I am a Mental Health Advocate, Writer and Public Speaker passionate about breaking down the stigma associated with Mental Health. A Forest Bathing Shinrin Yoku Guide, Cold Water Therapy Guide and Mental Health First Aid Trainer, I work to connect people with the outdoors for wellbeing. I am currently training in Integrating Mindfulness & Compassion with the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) to bring a conscious mindfulness to outdoor adventure, having just completed an MBCT at The University of Oxford.
For us all, managing our mental health on a daily basis is a huge challenge with the pressures life brings. For me, accessing the outdoors as part of this has changed my life. Sharing this with others to inspire is a key focus as I believe that if I can inspire one person to talk about their mental health, that is a success.
A Mountain Leader, Outdoor Instructor, Adventurer, Paddler, Climber, Cyclist, Mountain Biker and general outdoor nut I am proud to be an Ambassador and supporter of a number of companies who all put mental health and sustainability at the forefront of their work.
As a regular contributor to media such as The Telegraph, Outdoor & Fitness Magazine, Top Santé Women’s Fitness, The Outdoors Station, GetOutside Podcast, and a Presenter for Walking Around Britain I enjoy writing & talking about my experiences and mini adventures, all of which are underwritten by a desire to open up the conversations about mental health.
My career previously was the polar opposite and the pressure of running a Textile Design Degree and working in the fashion/textile industry resulted in a mental breakdown in 2015 which in turn kickstarted my most exciting adventure yet…
